Policy on generative AI#

silx follows the NumPy AI Policy.

In short:

  1. Use of AI must be disclosed. Describe in the pull request which technology was used and for what part.

  2. You are responsible for the submitted code, even if generated by AI. Do not submit code that you do not understand and be ready to explain it to the reviewer if needed.

  3. Do not use AI to communicate with the reviewers since it generates very verbose discourses.

  4. Check that you own the copyright of the submitted code, in accordance with the MIT license of the project.

  5. Use of AI is forbidden for issues tagged Difficulty: Easy. The value of solving those is for a human to learn by doing, and is wasted on an AI.

  6. Fully autonomous pull request submission by agent AIs is forbidden in accordance with point 1.
